I'm having issues with creating license files with Sold To ID and using them on borrowed licenses. It seems that as soon as you cannot connect to the server specified Sold To ID and WebKey is set to UNKNOWN under About in Plant Simulation 12.2 and the license protected libraries issues warnings about not having the correct Host ID.
This means that I have to issue licenses bound to Host ID for every user in case they want to borrow licenses and work without connection to the Plant Simulation license server.
Is this as intended?

I wouldn't say it is intended.
But the integrated custom licensing mechanism relies on the fact that we need an id to identify the allowed machine. Once the connection to the license server is lost we can no longer check the Sold-To-ID.
The borrowing feature is therefore not supported for user generated licenses.
That explains it for me. A shame that it's not possible to acquire the sold to id as well when borrowing licenses and save it somewhere.
I will have to request Host IDs in other words.
Thank you for the explanation Ralf!
