Im using a pick and place robot however im wondering how to model the robot in Plant sim as it does not come into contact with any parts. The robot in my production line is used just as a measuring and laser system which feeds in data to an external system. i want to model the robot in plant sim however as im interested in its energy use and down time and overall productivity. is there any way to model the robot without connecting to a source as i dont want it to pick up any parts? I am using plant sim 13 for this model. I have tried using a buffer and also a singleproc before the pick and place to try and schedule jobs but this has led to the pick and place being operational but not working.
