I am new to PlantSimulation.
I am trying to simulate a manufacturing system, in which parts continously are created on "machine 1". These parts needs to rest due to process requirements for 48h before being processed further on. Some parts only can be further processed on "machine 2", some parts only on "machine 3".
In the mean time, other parts are being manufactured, stored, then passed on to "machine 2" or "3".
Since there are around 50 different parts being produced on "machine 1", some only can be processed on "machine 2" and some only can be put to "machine 3". we try to figure out an optimized production sequence. "machine 1" is supposed to run all the time. but the products cant be used if they are older than 14 days.
Is this possible to put into plant simulation?
you can take three buffers with a processing time of 48 hours (seperate the parts that only can be processed on a special type of machine). Then you can develop different strategies, how to continue with the production.
The MU records the entry time into the buffer,so you can calculate at each time the staying time in the buffer.
