Designing an overall equipment effectiveness calculator
Presenter: Marc Hermans, Audi Hungaria Motor Kft.
In his presentation ‘Designing an Overall Equipment Effectiveness Calculator’, the author takes you through an interesting journey in production statistics and wants to show a simple but swift way of interpreting the resource statistics.
By redefining and elaborating the basic concepts of Availability, Performance and Quality, the presenter wants to give a guideline on how to construct a useful OEE-Calculator in Plant simulation.
Last but not least, he shares his first findings in the use of his own tool and gives some insight of the power of OEE.The OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is a tool for visualizing all losses, which occurred during the actual time used for production. The OEE calculation is a production indicator with a balance effect, meaning that if anything is ‘forgotten’ or ‘exaggerated’, a gap will appear somewhere else.
Marc Hermans works for „Audi Hungaria Motor Kft.” he has a master in Nautical Science at the Antwerp Maritime Academy and has 10 years of experience in the planning department of which 5 years as expert on discrete event simulation.
