Handling of 7 million data records in one complex Plant Simulation 3D model

Sometimes customers data is somehow available but unstructured , intransparent, incomplete, split over several systems and difficult to interpret.
Besides the classic simulation and emulation of logistics systems, continuous monitoring and optimization of real systems are increasingly moving into focus.
Especially in complex systems it is important to perform a detailed analysis of the material flow, to provide sophisticated visualization and a corresponding dynamic performance measurement system that can be used for real and simulation data as well as planning data.
The presentation gives an overview about the developed solution - the SimPath-Library - and explains the scope of the approach based on a reference project from the distribution logistics.
Stephan Stauber is the branch manager of the SimPlan office in Regensburg. He studied mathematics at the University of Bayreuth, obtaining his mathematics degree in 1994. He established his expertise in the field of highly automated logistic systems as software developer for an internationally active logistic system supplier. For almost 16 years he has been part of the SimPlan family, focusing on large scale simulation and emulation projects. He is also responsible for the continuous development of the SimPlan logistic suite for Plant Simulation and several SimPlan products such as SimAssist and SimPath.
