A lot of what is shared at an analyst event is under non-disclosure. We outline futures around our product that we don’t yet want to share with the world (and our competitors). But there is one item in the upcoming NX 7.0 launch that I got clearance to tell you just a little bit about.
It’s call HD3D. What is it? It is visual reporting of PLM data right in the the 3D design.
Why would you want it? It provides more complete information so designers can make the right decisions. Designers today face more challenges today in globally distributed product development teams.
HD3D will enable:
More visual PLM so you can see the big picture of PLM data but in 3D.
Immediate access to details using on screen navigation and interactive tagging for drilling down information.
Report generation to process issues with visual lists.
It’s not just “eye candy,” it’s the analytics that are important here. More to come when NX 7.0 launches (in the very near future).
