We’re very pleased to announce that the keynote speakers for the Femap Symposium, to be held in Atlanta on May 14-16, will be Mark McGinnis (SGT Inc) James Webb Space Telescope Project Lead and Dr. Emmanuel Cofie (SGT Inc.) ISIM Lead Thermal Distortion Analyst. Their keynote presentation – Modeling the First Light Machine with Femap – will highlight the James Webb Space Telescope.
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), a large infrared telescope with a 6.5 meter primary mirror, will look back over 13.5 billion years to see the formation of the first stars and galaxies in the Universe.
Following the planned launch in 2018 aboard an Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle, the JWST will be deployed 1.5 million kilometers away from the Earth in space. Mark McGinnis and Dr. Cofie will discuss the challenges arising from the analysis of the mission’s technical performance metrics and the important part played by Femap to create models to simulate the various observatory configurations.
The Femap Symposium will take place May 14-16 at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta, GA. Register now to secure your place at this exciting event.
