Human Simulation in an integrated PLM environment

Lately, I made a couple of blogs talking about our human simulation applications. Last December, we announced the availability of Tecnomatix Jack 30-day free trial offer. I also talked about how we highlighted our human simulation technology in this year North America International Auto Show (NAIAS).

Today, I want to share with you a video demonstration of human factors and ergonomics analysis capabilities of Siemens, and show you how to incorporate human simulation as part of the PLM process. Our human simulation tools provide the ability to analyze manufacturing work procedures and validate if they meet industry health and safety standards. Manufacturers rely on industry standards such as OWAS, NIOSH, RULA, etc. to make sure work postures, load carrying capacity and exerted force do not pose injury risks to workers. Human simulation allows manufacturers to do those analyses digitally and if needed take necessary corrective steps to redesign the assembly task procedure.

Check the video below where I show how you can perform different ergonomic analysis to make sure they meet safety standards. However, the biggest benefit of using Tecnomatix human simulation tool is that your ergonomic study is part of your PLM process and you can tie these studies directly to your manufacturing process structure. In this video, I am using Teamcenter to manage my bill-of-process of an aircraft wing assembly, and I am using Process Simulate Human to perform human simulation, all of these in a single integrated PLM environment.
