Chuck Grindstaff, president and CEO of Siemens PLM Software shared the global PLM strategy as the first presentation of this year’s Summit.
Chuck emphasized that managing growing product complexity, extracting value from the “Big Data” in an efficient fashion is one of the emerging challenges and industry trends that all the manufactuers and innovators are facing.
In addition to the “Big Data”, the requirement of integrated systems and enable extended users across the lifecycle are also observed as the major industry trends according to IDC’s research.
"Big Data” technologies describe a new generation of technologies and architectures, designed to economically extract value from very large volumes of a wide variety of data, by enabling high-velocity capture, discovery and/or analysis. - IDC Manufacturing Insights
Siemens PLM Software’s system engineering and active workspace enable innovators and manufactures to capture their customer’s requirements and develop comprehensive products with scalable, integrated and easy solutions and stay on top of the industry trends.
To conclude his presentation, Chuck introduced active workspace with a live demo to the audience. “This is the first time we can see across all of our processes…this really links the system engineering with the rest of PLM,” according to an early adopter of active workspace.
