Jim Brown of Tech-Clarity presented at COFES on the results of an annual survey of industry decision makers. Survey responders noted their strategic priorities included new products and hiring. 67 percent hiring, 47 percent adding new products. The findings showed positive sentiment in the market but still with a lean mindset. Lean growth if you will ;-).
Here's my video interview with Jim.
Regarding COFES, Jim shares in the video some of the interesting sessions he participated in, including The Evolution of Social Media into Design and Engineering. He blogged his most recent thoughts on the subject in Connecting Social Interaction with Product Information. He also noted the uniqueness of the event:
"The people here are the ones setting strategy...This is a thinking event.
...what's so unique about this event...the fact that you've got vendors, customers ... industry analysts and press, all sharing ideas and competitors."
