Another new feature coming in NX8.5 is "Unite with Region Selection". When uniting solid bodies that have overlapping, or excess material, you can use region selection to identify a collection of faces that should be kept or removed when the solid bodies are united.
Region selection saves you from having to trim the bodies before uniting them. This simplifies the part navigator feature tree, as there are no separate trim body features listed.
In the following video Derek England, Product Manager for NX Design explains how it works, and how it can be used by our customers.
This new feature allows you to create your desired geometry with about 30 percent fewer commands and 25 percent fewer features.
In the next few days, I'll share a few more features coming up in NX8.5!
