2013 Digital Manufacturing Symposium in Sao Paulo, Brazil
We want to extend our gratitude to all the customer speakers who took their time to share their Tecnomatix success stories and how they achieved productivity gains with digital manufacturing technologies.
I was able to touch base with few of our customer speakers after their presentation and I asked them to talk briefly about their presentation. I’m sharing with you those post presentation interviews
First, Marcio Tubini from Kuka Systems Brazil talks about how virtual commissioning allowed Kuka Brazil to save 30% in system setup time. He envisions Kuka Brazil will make further gains in saving system startup time as they gain additional learning experience. Kuka Brazil received Innovation of the Year award from Kuka headquarters in Germany because of their innovative use of virtual commissioning.
Marcos Barbosa from SPI Systems talks about digital manufacturing and its increasing application in non-traditional industries such as mining. He shares a Tecnomatix case study where SPI was able to improve production throughput by 8% for a mining company.
Frederico Mol from Kotchergenko Engenharia shares an application of Plant Simulation for managing shipyard logistics and how it helped reduce demurrage cost by almost $1.47 million.
Last but not the least, I want to share with you a statement from Mr. Nelson Fujimoto, Secretary of Innovation, Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Brazil where he mentioned the importance of digital manufacturing for the Brazilian Industries. Mr. Fujimoto was the keynote speaker at the symposium, and he shared with the audience how the Brazilian economy is focused on promoting technology innovation to stay competitive in the global economy.
In my next blog I will share with you few more videos of the speakers at the symposium.
