Sometimes it’s useful to be able to split an existing mesh and have that split propagate through the model maintaining proper element connectivity. In this video we’ll see how you can achieve that in Femap.
The Mesh Splitter by edge is very useful!
On a related topic we use a macro which splits a 2D mesh by a set of curves.
It's been coded so the user can specify a tolerance to detect nodes to move rather than splitting elements, to avoid creating distorted elements:

We use this functionnality a lot but have no idea how to achieve this without the macro (we have no geometry in the model+we want to add as little modifications as possible to models).
If someone has an idea we are interested.
This could be a helpful in future versions of FEMAP.
