Held from September 13-16, 2016, this 4-day Ground Vibration Testing (GVT) master class covered in detail the challenges and modern solutions for dynamic testing of full aircraft structures as part of the certification process.
Over twenty-five aerospace experts from around the world attended the master class held at Campus Saffraanberg, a military personnel training school located in Sint-Truiden, Belgium about 50km from Brussels.
The master class rolled out an integrated approach to handle the test preparation, instrumentation, measurement, modal analysis and numerical model correlation and updating. All attendees participated in the actual full-scale Ground Vibration Test on a grounded F16 aircraft -- a unique experience for many!
Besides participating in the actual full-scale GVT, the attendees followed presentations from Siemens GVT expert Bart Peeters and industry experts including Emeritus Professor Jan Wright from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, Professor Gaetan Kerschen from the University of Liège, Belgium and Wim Doeland from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
We would like to extend our thanks to Campus Saffraanberg for hosting this valuable event.
