Indeed, it is easy to script models for various types of analyses or tasks (parameter variations, optimization …) using Python, Matlab, Scilab and virtual basic for applications (VBA). However, it is also possible to access to core features through the circuit application programming interface (API) and hence build a complete model from scratch through scripting.

LMS Amesim comes with a standard design exploration module allowing users to conduct DOE calculation, optimization and Monte Carlo studies. The response surface model capabilities of this module allow to fully benefit from the nonlinear programming by quadratic lagrangian (NLPQL) and genetic algorithm implemented in it. These studies can be parallelized locally (taking advantage of the multi-core architecture of most modern computers) but also on a network.

Additionally it is possible to couple LMS Amesim with other optimization software packages like Mode Frontier, Optimus…

 

  1. It is possible to expand standard LMS Amesim components with in-house know-how.

The software comes with LMS Imagine.Lab Ameset (a complete development environment for LMS Amesim components). Since most standard components are delivered with their source code it is possible to edit them and add in-house know-how in these components.
