We might as well admit it – we can’t help but turn our heads when we hear the wild roar of a supercar’s engine. Indeed, whether you’re a fan or not of these roadrunners, the angry growl of a supercharged engine will make you seek its origin. Did you know that the sporty sound of an engine is a carefully designed matter? Nothing’s left to coincidence when it comes to shaping the sound of these road legends.

Lamborghini cars are such head-turners. In a recent press release, Automobili Lamborghini announced that it now expands its prototype and pre-series vehicle development facilities and opens a new acoustic test room. With the extension of the facilities, the production plant gets ready for the new super-SUV of the brand, the URUS. For the URUS just as for the other vehicles of the brand, perfect sound design is essential and defines the audible brand signature of the legendary car maker. As the car marker itself describes it: “The sound of a Lamborghini represents one of the most emotive experiences attached to the super sports car marque. The acoustic test room, which has been realized according to the latest technical standards, allows adjustment of particular sound sensations in order to create the typical Lamborghini driving experience, involving all the senses.”  Lamborghini.jpgSee it on the picture, next to the Huracan Performante Green supercar: the new facility features one of Simcenter’s flagship products, an LMS SCADAS Mobile. The faithful data acquisition system captures and conditions best-quality data to support optimal sound design.

Shaping the sound of a legend requires advanced technologies and a lot of expertise. With its new facility, Automobili Lamborghini takes the pole position in perfecting supercar’s sound designs. And we are not little proud to know that Simcenter’s product line is contributing to it.
