2D ST9 update opening problem

I had 2D ST8 on my computer (Laptop no Network)and was getting a few minor issues then The opening page would not respond to mouse commands. I uninstalled and updated to ST9 now it will not open files, raising a dialog box  headed 'server busy' saying 'This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "switch to" activate the busy program and correct the problem' Switch to opens the windows 10 menu

The other option is retry and does nothing. The only way to escape is end task..

Not sure if this is  ST9 problem or win 10??

Does anyone have any ideas, Thanks

Hi there @traub2,

 

Could be either SE or Win10 at play here......one or both could have open coms with the file[s] in question, so completing a secondary file access is hindered.

 

I presume you have tried a full system reboot?

Thank you for your reply.

I had restarted the computer.

I received some help from the local Solid edge agent and it apprears that in this case simply uninistalling the earlier program was not enough. I uninstalled ST9 again, then cleared Solid edge from the program files and registers, reinstalled ST9 again and it is now opening correctly.
