Access to tutorials

N/A

I apologise if this topic has been covered before but I can find nothing directly
relevant to my problem. I am new to Solid Edge and I need help in starting up.
When I try to access the tutorial, I get a message that "menu.exe has encountered
a problem and needs to close"
I have read some previous replies and understand that I need a file called seddadr.dft.
I have searched for this, without success.
Are there suitable books I can get, suitable for an absolute beginner like me?
Thanks,

William,
Unfortunately, this error is very generic and does not tell us enough to know why
it is occurring. Some things to consider are:
What version of Microsoft .NET Framework is loaded on your machine? The easiest
way to find out is to go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. This will give
you a list of everything that is installed on your machine. The version of 2D Drafting
you are running requires version 2.0, but if you have 3.0 loaded, you could encounter
problems. If you have 1.1, this is not a problem as long as you also have 2.0.
You could potentially have all three versions loaded. If you are nto using it
for anything specific, I would recommend simply removing 3.0 from you machine to
alleviate the problem.
We are supported on Internet Explorer 6.0 or later. We tested the current version
with 7.0.
Sorry I cannot be of more assistance.
Andy.
