AutoCAD Colors missing

N/A

I just installed this product and was hoping to use it to replace our way
antiquated version of AutoCAD for simple 2-D stuff. But, when I open an
AutoCAD drawing all the colors are missing. Everytthing reverts to black on
white. These drawings have significant amounts of color in use to distinguish
different operations (the drawings in question are instruction sheets). I went
through the "Options..." screen on the file open window and made sure the
settings were what I thought they should be (then saved the particular INI
file specifically for these sheets), but still got the same results. Am I
missing something incredibly obvious?

There is a setting in the AutoCAD import options (Step 5 of 8 in the wizard)
that either maps in the ACAD colors or maps them all in as black.

Been there; done that! as they say. Still getting just black.
Anything else?

Jim,
Can you send one of your files to me? If the files are sensitive material, can you
create a simple example and send it? I also need your .ini file that you have created
by changing the translator options. The colors should translate. If I can get the
files, I will investigate it further.
