AutoCAD Import Paperspace scale

N/A

Hi all
Importing a Autocad drawing with model to scale in model space
and 2 sheets.
All the dimensions etc have been added on the sheet and include an appropriate
scale factor in the propertires (0.01) i.e. the paper view is 1/10 the model
when i import to SolidEdge V20 everything works except the dimensions have lost
their scaling info
so a dimonsion that should read 1115 now reads 111.5
so it appears that the paper space has been scaled correctly but the dimensions
are reporting the scaled dimension
any clues ?
thanks
Donald

Donald,
Can you provide a simple example. I created a simple AutoCAD example and
translated it into Solid Edge. I had a viewport on Layout1 that referenced
the geometry on the Model. I set the scale of the viewport to .5. I placed a
dimension on the line in the viewport on Layout1. I translated the file into
Solid Edge and the dimension was the same. Is this the correct workflow?

Ricky,
Thanks for the reponse, I am now completly confused
Your interpretation of the workflow is correct
I repeated your simple excercise and the conversion worked
I took the existing drawing
created a new viewport placed one dimension and imported
again the SolidEdge reports the actual dimension of the line in the paper space
rather the correct scaled dimension.
however if i place a dimension using SolidEdge it reports the correct scaled dimesion
Thanks
