Can't create 'File-New' in Windows 7 RC

Hi Rick,
I'm running Windows 7 RC (eval build 7100) as Vista gave me the irrits
to many times.
When I try to create a New file from within SE 2D on this PC none of the
templates are there so I can't select one to start a new file. I went
back to Gerry's suggestion about deleting the C:\users\\App
Data\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SolidEdge 2D Drafting ST folder
(in reference to this problem happening in Windows Vista) and after
doing so I can see the templates for one time only, then the next time I
try doing a File-New from within SE2D the templates are not there. When
I check back into the C:\users\\App
Data\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\ location the 'SolidEdge 2D
Drafting ST folder keeps reinstalling itself.
Exploring this folder shows all the templates under 'More' and
'Quicksheet' folders, and the isodraft.dft file in the folder itself.
I'm logged-on as a user with Administrator rights.
Is it safe to assume that there will be a fix for this when Win7 ships,
and that the interim workaround advice is to copy the template files to
a different location and point to them within the app?
Cheers, Rick

This is probably something to do with the user access control that Vista /
W7 uses.
Changing the location of the templates in Solid Edge options should fix it.

Create a folder at the root of your system drive called e.g. Templates Then
copy the More and Quicksheet folders and the isodraft.dft file from their
original location into the new folder Then access Solid Edge options > File
Locations Set the User Templates folder to the new location

Hope that helps

Rick,
2D drafting is not currently certified for Windows 7. We are working on
development of Solid Edge for Windows 7.
I do not know what problems you may run into running 2D Drafting on Windows
7.
