Ron,
Look in the "C:\Program Files\Solid Edge 2D Drafting V20\Template" folder.
This is where the File-New dialog looks to find the default templates. Do
you see any Draft files in this folder? There are also subfolders here. The
tabs you see in the dialog are created from these subfolders. Do you see any
Draft files in the subfolders? Are you running Vista? Make sure you have
privaleges to access these folders.

Rick B.

Yes I can see many draft files in the template folder and subfolders.
I am running Vista Home Basic and I have privelages to access these folders.
I should mention that when I first loaded Solid Edge I could see files when I clicked
File-New, but something has changed. I'm hoping that I don't have to reload the
Solid Edge program to fix.
Thanks for your quick response.

Ron,
Do you know what the registry is and how to modify it?

Sorry about the delay, but I got busy with a honey do job.
I know a little about the registry but would require some directions.
If you'r willing to help I'll give it a try.

Ron,
What I am thinking is that you have specified a custom file path for the
templates.
I will give you directions to reset the UI back to the original settings.
I am running XP, but I think Vista is much the same.
1. Close Solid Edge 2D Drafting.
2. Click on Start.
3. Click on Run.
4. In the 'Open:' field key in "regedit".
5. Click OK. This will start the Registry Editor.
Be very careful from here on. A mistake can be fatal to your system!!!
6. Click on the '+' in front of 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER'.
7. Click on the '+' in front of 'Software'.
8. Click on the '+' in front of 'Unigraphics Solutions'.
9. Click on 'Solid Edge'. Do not click on the '+' in front of 'Solid Edge'.
'Solid Edge' should be the only item highlighted.
10. Press the Delete key on the keyboard. The entry for 'Solid Edge' will be
removed.
11. Click on the red 'X' in the upper right corner of the Registry Editor.
This will close the registry editor.
Run Solid Edge 2D Drafting and see if you find the templates.

Rick B.

Ricky,
I followed your instructions and all went well, no ill effects, but still no files
in the "NEW " window.
Any other ideas?
I really appreciate your help.

Ron,
Can you use File-Open and navigate to the template folder and see the
template files to open?

Hi Rick
Yes this is how I have been starting new drawings. I hope this is not going to cause
me any problems.
Also how do I start a second or third sheet.
Thanks
Ron

Ron,
I'm still working on the template issue.
You can insert more sheets by clicking on Insert at the top of the
application and then New Sheet in the drop list of commands. You can also
right mouse click on Sheet1 at the bottom and click on Insert.
