Changing Line Type

Hi all,
I have been trying to figure out how to change the line type when a line goes from
being seen to hidden. Is there some sort of break command or is simply best to have
solid line up to the edge of where it becomes hidden and then draw a separate line
of the hidden type to carry on from there. That works ok for straight lines.
It seems to be more difficult when part of a circular object is hidden.
I hope you can understand what I am saying.
Thanks in advance
John

Once again I have found the split button on the customise toolbars option. A bit
tricky to use at first but have sort of figured it out.
