Crosshatching visible bounding area requirement

Why is it a requirement to affect a crosshatch that all the curves that bound the region to be hatched MUST be visible in the graphic display area?

Kind of makes it difficult (impossible) to crosshatch a long thin area that when zoomed to show all the boundary curves leaves no discernible space to mouse indicate in.

I agree with you.
Here is a workaround.
Start the fill command zoomed out.
Fence select geometry that includes all the geometry that will bound the
fill.
Including additional geometry in what is selected is OK.
Zoom Area around the area where you need to click.
Click to place the fill.
The fill command will take the geometry in the select set and use that to
calculate the area for the fill.

That works... thanks for the work around.

I noticed that the curves that define the crosshatch area do not have be constructed end-point-to-end point. Good.
