Default Balloons

Hello,
I would like to change the appearance of balloons (font, size, and leg on
the leader). I can't find where this information is located and how I would
make the change the default for future designs.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Re: Default Balloons

Balloons are controlled by a dimension style. Create a new style and apply
it to all of your baloons.
Styles are created under Format-Style. Select Dimension as the Style Type
and click New. Change the settings, name your style Balloons and use it
every time you create a balloon.
Under Tools-Options click on the Dimension Style tab. Scroll down to
Balloons and change the default style to your new Balloon style.

Re: Default Balloons

All the "Styles" for annotations, dims etc are controlled by styles, just
like Microsoft Word. Go to "Format" menu and "Styles". Choose "Dimension
Style" and then go edit the style you are using or intend to use (ANSI, ISO,
etc. - -they come preset to the world standards). You can do "new" if you
want to base it on Ansi for example, but call it "tom's style". You should
find all the controls you are looking for under these style pages.
To make it work for all future designs you'll want to make the change in
your "template" file. This is the file that all others are created from. See
"templates" in help for more info on this.

Re: Default Balloons

Tom,
Another neat thing you can do is to create a dimension style map. If you
want the appearance of each dimension and or annotation to be different, you
can create a unique style for each type. By default you would have to
remember to set the correct style as you place each different type of
annotation or dimension. If you go to Tools-Options and click on the
Dimension Style tab, you can predefine which style to use for each dimension
or annotation type. When you do this, your predefined style will be applied
as you place your annotations and dimensions.
