Dimension alignment & geometry selection

Hello,
I have 2 questions.
1) How can I align text of Co-ordinate dimensions?
2) How can I select entities of a certain colour or type inside a window
pick.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Re: Dimension alignment & geometry selection

1. Coordinate dimension text will fall into a series of "indents" that are
aligned with the origin text. If adding additional coordinate dimensions
into an existing string, after selecting the coordinate dimension command,
click on an existing dimension or the origin of the string to add them to,
and then click the element you are measuring to. The new dims will pick up
the same "indent" set and can be easily aligned with the existing
dimensions.
2. The only way to narrow down what is selected by using a Fence, is to
adjust the Select Options, and there is no option for entity type or color.
Smart Select will allow selection based on element type or color, but it
selects all entities in the drawing that match the pattern (can't use the
fence). You would probably need to use both tool options along with Layers
to do what you are after (Smart Select to get the element type/color you
want, put it on a different layer, make that layer active, set the Select
Options to Active Layer only, and fence what you want.
