Distributing points eaqually along a line?

I need to distribute a number of points (more than 80) along a curved line. I want
them equally spaced but I don't know exactly how far apart they will be because
I don't know the precise length of the line, which is a closed loop of irregular
shape.
The points will be used as drilling locations.
Can anybody help?
Thank you

No way to do it.

Well, I've seen it done, although not with this software. I'm trying out as many
low cost CAD programs as I can and Free2D seems so comprehensive that surely there
ought to be some way around the problem.

Re: Distributing points eaqually along a line?

The 3D product has the ability to pattern along a curve, but the 2D product
does not unless you write custom code to do it, and that isn't even an
option with the Free version.

OK, thanks, need to look elsewhere then!

I have exactly the same case, what a pity. Otherwise extremely good program. But
on points it lacks, also the point style cannot be changed except the linethickness
