Drawing scaling

Hi all,

this question is not about Solid Edge its about Solid Edge 2D Drafting ST9, lets make that clear Smiley Wink

So, how do you draw to scale?

Or, how do you scale the drawing, but keep the correct dimensions?

My findings:

Set Sheet Scale does nothing?

If I draw, dimension and then scale geometry, it scales dimensions too.

Help?

For 2D in Draft, you have 2 options both using the 2D Model sheet where geometry is always drawn at full scale (the display of it is OFF by default, turn it on in the View ribbon).

  • Place geometry on 2D Model sheet and place all dimensions/construction geometry on the "Auto-Hide" layer.  Then place your 2D views on the Working sheet using the 2D Model command at whatever scale needed.  You can then either Retrieve Dimensions that you placed on the geometry in the 2D Model sheet, or you can place new dimensions.
  • Place geometry/dims/etc... on 2D Model sheet and then use the Drawing Area Setup command to place a scaled border block around the geometry.  You can then ignore the Working sheets (turn them OFF in the View ribbon)
