Exported DXF problem

I have sent an exported DXF to a sheet metal shop and they can't open it (I believe they are using AutoCAD, I'm checking on this). With V20 this was never a problem (I'm currently running ST2).

I can open the file with ST2.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Exported DXF problem

By default ST2 saves the DXF to Autocad version 2000. Can't remember what
version of DXF SEV20 had but try saving to an older verson of DXF like V14.

Re: Exported DXF problem

I sent a DWG and all seems to be well.

I opened V20 and it defaults to AutoCAD 2000.

I still have V20 on my system because I didn't like ST2 (still not crazy about the interface) when I first installed it. This doesn't seem to be causing problems - it is advisable to uninstall V20?

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Exported DXF problem

Tim,
You should not have two versions installed at the same time.
This is a problem with the ST2 installation.
It should check for an existing installation and not allow the new version
to install without uninstalling the older version.
This can cause problems, but i doubt that it is the problem you are seeing
with the DXF file.
Uninstall ST2 first. Then uninstall V20.
Then install whichever version you need.
