Hard to draw 1:1 with a small object

N/A
Hi, I understand the work flow in SE:
I.e. draw 1:1 in the 2D model, then place a view of the 2D model in a sheet and scale the placed view accordingly.

But my problem is when I am drawing 1:1 in the 2D model, because the part is so small, just an arrow head of a dimension covers almost the hole drawing. And it only ever wants to select the dimensions cause they are so big and always in the way and cover everything.

Is there anyway I can scale the dimension lines, or should I just not draw at 1:1?

The dimension characteristics are controlled by the text height of the
dimension.
If you want all dimensions to be smaller, change the text height in the
dimension style.
First you need to ddetermine what dimension style you are using.
When you run the dimension command, the name of the dimension style will
show in a combo box in the dimension command.
It will be ISO, ANSI(inch), or something like that.
To the far right of the Dimension command group is a command called
'Styles'.
Click on that command button.
This displays the Styles dialog.
Click on 'Dimension' in the Style type list.
Click on the style you are using in the 'Styles' list.
Click on either 'Modify' or 'New'.
It depends on if you want a new style with small text or modify the existing
style to have small text.
You will see the Modify Dimension Style dialog.
Click on the Text tab.
In the Text section of this dialog, change the 'Font size' to something more
appropriate for the size of your model.
Click on OK.
Click on Close in the Style dialog.
If you modified the existing style, any existing dimension using that style
will change.
If you created a new dimension style you will need to change the existing
dimensions to use that style.
Click on the dimensions and set the style to the new one created.

If you want it to be temporary, you can also use the text scale.
When you place or modify a dimension, text scale is on the ribbon bar.
See if it helps you.
