How can I write subscripts and superscripts

N/A
Good evening. I have a question: is it possible to write a text label, that includes normal text and subscript? In Auto CAD it's done with an operator "^". Is such function supported at all or you should make the letters of a different size and place them where needed. Waiting for answers.

PS: Sorry for poor English.

I cannot find a way to add super case in ST8 and ST9... I need to write annotation referring to Area size, i.e

Contact paint shall be placed on area of minimum 10.5 mm^2.

It looks like SolidEdge drawing do not exponentiation ?

b.t.w.  Your webpage html corector is also rejecting pure html tag. - It performs as blind SolidEdge...

@Przemek  Superscript characters are possible in limited form for common items like "squared" and "cubed" by using the Font characters in a Font set that represent these.  You can find them via the CharMap tool and they can be typed in by pressing the ALT key and typing in their code which is displayed in the lower right.  For instance ² is ALT+0178, ³ is ALT+0179

Hi @KennyG

Hi @Przemek

You also should find them directly on keyboard using the "Alt Gr + 2" and "Alt Gr +3"

At least all of our keyboards have printed them there

On the other hand You can use the format functions of Solid Edge to get them.

Use the Text-Stack

Another method would be to use MS Word if it is installed on your computer.

Type mm2, then select just the 2 and press <Ctrl><Shift><+> keys together.

This will raise the 2 and result in mm²

Now its ready to be copy-pasted to Solid Edge.

Yet another method would be to use the Charmap command.

This is found on the Sketching tab of the ribbon bar in the Insert group, as shown below:

Locate the ² character from the table then click the Select followed by the Copy buttons.

Now paste it in Solid Edge.
