Import other file types

Seems that the free version will not import ACIS, or IGS files. Always get a box
that says I don't have a translator for the file type. This does limit the usefulness
of this program for me as I get a lot of files from customers to quote and cannot
use Solid Edge 2D.
Also the program does not support intelligent blocks, that feature is also disabled.
Again, this is one of the more useful features of Autocad.
This is a Great product but it has been limited. I will need to stick with Autocad
until I can upgrade to the full version of Solid Edge.

Re: Import other file types

ACIS (SAT) is not a 2D format. It is a solid modeling format -- thus not
included in the 2D product. On IGS similar story -- IGES is mostly used for
3D these days. Its been largely displaced by DWG and DXF which are the
defacto standards in 2D drawing exchange. Your customers/suppliers should
all be able to supply DXF or DWG.
