Install free 2D

I downloaded the file and complete the registration form on line. Should I receive a CD or DVD to complete the installation?
Thanks...

Re: Install free 2D

I assume when you registered, you got to a page where you select a language.
When you select the language you have a choice to run or save the download.
The download is an installation executable.
The name will be something like 'SE2DDraftV103ENGLISH.exe', depending on the
language you selected.
I suggest you save the download. This way you have it if you need to install
again.
Did you get to the point where you were asked to Run or Save the download?

Re: Install free 2D

Rick,
I saved the download under program files and there are a lot of files under that folder. What should I do next?
I appreciate your help,
Adriana B

Re: Install free 2D

I ran the program and when I try to open it says a message regarding the license. It says that new to get a valid license.

Re: Install free 2D

What is the name of the file?
What is the link to the web site you went through to get to the download?

Re: Install free 2D

I did discover that some of the web pages were pointing to older versions of
the software.
This depended on what web page you got to the download link from.
English, German, etc.
The links have been corrected.
If you download again, you should not have a problem with an expired
license.

Re: Install free 2D

I've just registered and downloaded today and I'm having the same issues with the license file.

I downloaded the license file on the link to the 2D exe but neither that one, nor the the deafult one (seem to be same file anyway) work.

Error keeps coming up with "no valid license"

I also did a search for future file dates as detailed in the other thread but I'm clear on that one.

Any thoughts?

Re: Install free 2D

Are you running on the machine on which you installed the software, or are you trying to run remote?

there is a folder called 'Program' under the Solid Edge 2D Drafting software installation
folder. Open the file called SELicense.dat with Notepad. There should be two lines of text in the file. Copy the text and paste it into a responce on this thread. I need to see what is in the license file. Do not save the license file when you close it.

Re: Install free 2D

I'm having the same issue. Downloaded the new license file and extracted directly to the program folder and still receive the "Solid Edge 2D Drafting could not find a valid license"

Contents of the license file

INCREMENT solidedge2ddrafting sedemon 103.0 01-mar-2012 uncounted \
6DDC3DBE9FF2 HOSTID=DEMO ISSUER=UGS

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

~Chris

EDIT: I forgot to include that I'm trying to install this remotely.

System Info: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Re: Install free 2D

The licensing is not set up to run remotely. You have to run the software on the machine it is installed on.
