I'm trying to install SE2DDraft.exe on a notebook that is running Vista. I currently have it installed on an XP operation system with no problems. On the Vista machine I get an install error 1935, 'Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"". I did a search on MS web help and forum and got nothing that meant anything to me. Any help?
Quinten, Isn't Vista a blast??? Not!!! Installing 2D Drafting will also install some needed Microsoft resources (Dot Net Framework). These are needed components for the software to run properly. The error is a Microsoft installation error when .NET fails to install. I did some research and there can be a number of causes. One thing I found as a possible solution is to install .NET directly and then install Solid Edge 2D Drafting. Go to the following web site and follow the directions to see if you can install the .NET Framework Version 2.0 directly. Follow the instructions on the web page. Let me know if you get the same error installing it directly. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displa... Once .NET is installed, the installation of Solid Edge 2D Drafting will skip that step. Try installing 2D Drafting again. Let me know how it works. Regards, Rick B.
