Intersecting lines

Hi
I have used previous versions of Solid Edge quite comprehensively and sucessfully
in the past.
With the latest version (2D) I am trying to draw two lines perpendicular to one
another with their centre points intersecting. The drawing I need to make is
symmetrical around a centre line. I have tried several methods. I can draw a
line at right angle to the centre of the other line, however I cannot see an
easy way to extend this line so that the two lines intersect at their centres.
Relationships and intellisketch are on. After the lines are drawn and the lines
are moved over one another, the relationship symbols do not appear

Also The Tutorials don't work. The images appear but not the "lead through"
instructions.
I was about to download another copy of SE2D but it quoted 8 hours.

Many thanks
Geoff

Re: Intersecting lines

Geoff,
The easiest way to have two lines have two lines connected at the centers is
to add a connect constraint.
Add the constraint by clicking at the midpoint on each line. Make sure you
have Relationship Handles and Maintain Relationships enabled.
If you are drawing vertical and horizontal lines, where the vertical and
horizontal constraint is applied to the lines, they cannot be perpendicular
at the same time.
This is an overconstrained condition.
Can you send a snapshot image of what you see in the tutorial?

Rick B.

Hi Ricky
Thanks for your help, finally getting the hang of it all.
Attached is a pic of the tutorial screen without the instructions on the RHS.

Re: Intersecting lines

Geoff,
Have you installed Solid Works at any time on your machine?
Are you running a 32 bit or 64 bit operating system?

Ricky
No Solid Works never installed
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
32 bit system
I thought there may have been a problem with my installation of SE2D so re-downloaded
the package and reinstalled SE2D the downloaded file was identical to my previous
download. Tutorial just the same.
