MORE ON LOST OF SHEET VISIBILITY - CAN'T PRINT

N/A

This problem (See last entry re thread: TEXT BOX GHOSTING PROBLEMS/SHEET PROBLEMS)
continues to get worst. It has now gotten to point that I may've wasted weeks trying
to draw up my project to now lose the ability to print it out. Until I tried, I
thought the lost of multi-sheet visibility was just a convenience issue thinking
that I could just print out sections of the Model piece meal by using just the one
visible sheet. Well I tried to print the attached simple file today only to discover
that the file crashed each time I tried printing right after pressing the Print
button on the printer dialog box. I than tried my much larger and time intensive
project file to find it does the same thing.
Now what?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron

Folks, after thinking that I couldn't print out my work because of this problem,
I decided to see if I SE allows printing directly from the Model. And it does,
either using the current display on the monitor screen or a manually created window
or print area.
I have had a paradiem since first using SE that made me think I could only print
out from the Sheet screen - not true. So I'm not quite as concerned as before.
Sorry, if I sounded a bit panicky.

Ron,
You may want to check with the manufacturer of your printer to see if there is a
later version of the printer driver available. You can usually go to their website,
enter the model of your printer and download a driver from them.

Andrew, thanks. I was skeptical that this would work but it did.
Now, if only SE can fix the Sheet visibility problem, we'll be in business.
Again, thanks.

Ron,
Can you perhaps expand on this sheet visibility problem? I am not sure I understand
what you are talking about here.

Re: MORE ON LOST OF SHEET VISIBILITY - CLARIFICATION

N/A

Andrew, first I suggest you read thru the thread TEXT BOX GHOSTING PROBLEMS and DITTO/SHEET
PROBLEMS. See in the response posted by Ed Kadlec on 7/2 re his indication that
what I was describing as the lost of Working Sheet Tabs visibility is a known bug.

To further illustrated what this problem looks like, go to the following site to
see a Jing video:
http://screencast.com/t/oy8TAt4kr
In this video, see when I open the Reorder Sheets window that there are several
sheets already added beyond the one call ADD NAME. Yet only that one sheet tab
showns up.
This problem first showed in the file that was experiencing the text ghosting problems
and than spread to other files so that I thought (thru ignorance) that I couldn't
print out my work.
Hope this clarifies. I also hope SE will fix this bug.
Ron

Re: MORE ON LOST OF SHEET VISIBILITY - CLARIFICATION

N/A
Ron,
The sheet visibility problem is caused by not using the Exit button to exit
block edit. I can fix the file if you send it to me. In the next version of
2D Drafting the files will fix themselves when you open them.
Regards,
Rick B.

Re: MORE ON LOST OF SHEET VISIBILITY - CLARIFICATION

N/A

Ricky, whether I send you the fileS really depends on when the update will be released.
I had heard, maybe from you or Ken G, that it's targeted for this summer. So if
that's correct, I can wait and let the update fix my problem. It's not a big problem.
All that it makes me do is:
1. Edit the block in the 2D Model environment by unblocking, editing, reblocking
using the same name and replacing.
2. Print directly from the 2D Model sheet.
However, if it's going to be many months before the update, than I'll send you my
files.
Thanks,
Ron
