Mozilla Thunderbird

N/A
Hi,
I currently use Outlook Express as my news reader and it works fine with
private.se_free2d. I want to move to Mozilla Thunderbird but I have been
unable to set it up. Does any body else use Thunderbird? If so, I would be
very grateful to receive some guidance on how to set it up.
My problem may be because the news reader needs to be NNTP compliant. I do
not know what that is and therefore I do not know if Thubnderbird satisfies
that requirement.
Thanks for any help there may be.
Regards
Don.

Hi Don,
I too use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client plus I use it as my
newsreader for the SE2D forum.
You can go into Tools - Account Settings - and add an account for this
service. Give it a name like 'Solid Edge'.
Some specific settings:
For Outgoing Server (SMTP) I used the default setting which is also my
normal email SMTP server.
For Server Settings: the Server Type is News Server NNTP; the Server
Name is 'bbsnotes.ugs.com'.
Most of the other settings are not critical for this. Once you have
these set-up you should see another inbox called 'Solid Edge' at the
bottom of your Local Folders containing the 'p.se_free2d' forum.
Let me know if you need more info.
Cheers, Rick
