I know, but I would be able to get up to speed faster with a 1-on-1 help. If I could have someone help me draw one simple part to get the procedure down, it would help tremendously.
I started drawing a part, but am having great difficulty getting accurate start/end points.
I am having trouble working with inspect/smartmeasure and inspect/measure when I go back to check my work. I also can't seem measure from/to a hidden line, or centerline, to a visible line. When measuring I can't seem to snap to a line.
I'm spending more time with a calculator adding and subtracting to fix the start/end points than I should.
I drew half a symmetrical part, then used mirror/copy to get the flip side, with mixed results.
There has to be an easier way. If anyone knows please let me know.
I understand the need and I do not want to sound negative. But here is the issue. There has been over 300,000 downloads of 2D Drafting, which is a free software. Our support staff answers the phones for users that have purchased Solid Edge. Those users pay a premium for both software and support. It would not be fair to our paying customers to tie up the support lines with callers of free software. Given the volume of downloads of 2D Drafting, this could get out of hand very quickly. This is why we have set up this newsgroup. We have a few people who spend a little time each day answering questions here. If there are any specifics, we will try to answer your questions. Thank you for trying Solid Edge 2D Drafting. Regards, Rick B.
I can appreciate all of those issues. But offering paid support calls might encourage more of those 300,000 downloads to keep using the software. I would be willing to pay for support with a NetMeeting type session, where support could view my screen and tell me where i'm making my mistakes. Just a suggestion.
There is one thing that might help you get started. There are a number of YouTube videos that have been created by our resellers. If you go to http://www.youtube.com/ and search for Solid Edge 2D Drafting, you can find some good content. These will be mixed in with 3D Content, so you will have to be selective. Regards, Rick B.
I teach middle school kids. They can do things that I can't undo. My ribbon bar has disappeared. I have tried everything to get it back. I even tried to re-install and that did not help. Is there a default I can put everything back as it was. I love the program.
At the top of the application window there are two bars. The top one is the application name and file name. Right Mouse Click on the second bar. This is the bar with the Help icon. In the menu that displays see if 'Minimize the Ribbon' is checked. If it is, uncheck it. The command ribbon should come back. Regards, Rick B.
