Nothing works

Looks like I was a bit too hasty in my judgment. Will this program run on windows 7 64 bit?

It worked twice, now splash screen runs, a blank sheet appears with application and quick access buttons that do nothing. The help button on the right when pressed gives the message "you do not have a valid licence to use this command" Nothing appears if you press "New" and try to use any of the tabs on the menu.

Cheers

Re: Nothing works

Bob,
I saw your previous comment about using a tablet.
Are you trying to run the software through the tablet?
Will the software run properly using the keyboard and mouse only?

Rick B.

Re: Nothing works

No Rick, I have'nt tried the tablet yet.

Re: Nothing works

Was the software working properly and then something change so that it no
longer works properly.
I am trying to undestand if the problem existed under default conditions.

Hi Rick, after three re-installs, now works, so far so good.

Thanks for your help. Lets hope it keeps going, it's a great program, easy to get to grips with.

Are there any symbol libraries and templates available?

Cheers

Bob

Re: Nothing works

Bob,
I am glad you got it running.
There is a block library in the product.
Lok for the 'Sample Blocks' folder in the product installation folder.
There is also a 'Template' folder there as well.

Rick B.

Hi Rick

OK, so the third installation did not completley reinstall. I must have missed some of the original files when i uninstalled, or maybe registry entries. I will do a very careful purge of the system and do another install.

i have installed completely on another pc with XP and no problems, it's just windows 7 thats giving grief. Typical microsoft!!

Thanks Rick

Bob

Re: Nothing works

My best advice is to disable the UAC on Win 7 when you install the software.

Great minds etc. Did that and all seems to be working as it should be. Still cannot get the tablet to work, but that is a combination of USB/Serial windows 7 driver problems, but I shall do my work on the XP machine where the tablet works faultlessly.

Many thanks for all your help

Bob

Re: Nothing works

Is it win7 pro or Ultimate by any chance? Those are supposed to have an XP emulator that people have said works really well (haven't used it myself).
