Offset Line Selection

When I select a line to offset the program sometimes also selects adjoining lines.
How can I select only the one line?

Change the selection option (right side of ribbon bar) from Chain to Single.

Thanks Ken, that did it. I feel like an idiot, I thought the chain command was for
repeating the offset multiple times.
