# Point settings

Experimenter
Hello,
sorry I'm new and really kind of frustrated, so I hope somebody has five minutes time to give me a help.
I don't understand how to set up points on line.
1. I need to draw line 300 mm and need to set a point at 270 mm + 280 mm, how???
How I can find that point? I tried counting by grid, ok with 270 mm it will work, but what do I do by 278.5mm?
2. Even if I find that point and I set it, I will not able to see this point again?
What can I do for that?
3. Snap Point M doesn't work with me either, it's may be my keyboard?
Select a line, line changes color, press shift m or m only (both I tried), but nothing happens!
4. Or lets forget the line first, I want set one point (I can do that!) and than the next in a distance of 270mm (without grid counting), is that possible, after I can connect two elements, that would do or? But how the heck I set the points correctly?
I would be very glad for some help,
thanks
Andre

N/A

Andre,
Place your first point then place your second point. You don't need to try to get
it the exact distance at this stage. Just place the second point. Then use the dimension
tool to dimension the second point exactly where you want it from the first point.
Hope this helps some.
