Precisely Locate Dimensions

Hello,
I'm evaluating Solid Edge 2D (current AutoCAD user) and have a question: Is it
possible to precisely locate dimensions when placing them, instead of just clicking
where it will be placed?
Thanks,
Austen

Re: Precisely Locate Dimensions

There is not, they are only able to be placed dynamically. I'm assuming you
are just trying to line up multiple dimensions for neatness, and if so,
there are a couple of tools to do this:
When placing additional stacked/strung dimensions to an existing "Dimension
Between" group, instead of selecting geometry for the origin point, select
an existing dimension in the group and the new dimension will be added and
indexed properly.
To line up multiple disconnected dimensions, use the "Line Up Text" command
found under the Tools/Dimensions menu. This provides several options to
line up the dimensions or annotations by specifying a target dimension, and
then the dimensions to line up with it.

Re: Precisely Locate Dimensions

PS> In V20, they will snap to the grid if grid snap is on.

Thanks for the responses. I'm still running Solid Edge alongside ACAD so I'll continue
to evaluate.
