Printing to Scale

Hi,
New to Solid Edge and this forum...
I've looked through the help files but just amn't getting it, can someone help?
I'm drawing some floorplans "life sized" and then want to print them out on A4,
A1 etc to scale, however I want to put the scale details on the drawing. For instance
I may want to print 1:100 on A1 paper, or 1:25 on A4.
Can someone run through printing to scale with me, or point me to the relevant section
in the help?
Many thanks,
Scott

Re: Printing to Scale

Got the answer now..."blocks".
Also having to enter scale as a decimal threw me for a bit i.e.
1:100 - 0.01
1:200 - 0.005
1:10 - 0.1
1:50 - 0.02
2:1 - 2.0
Anyway all sorted now, just need to read about scaling text so it is readable, I
think there was a post elsewhere in this forum about it.

Re: Printing to Scale

Scott,
You will have the most success using 2D Model to place your geometry. There
you will place the geometry at 1:1 scale. Don't draw your geometry with
scale in mind.
You have a couple of options from there. You can use the Drawing Area Setup
command. You can find it under the File menu at the top of the application
window. This command will help you set up the scale for your sheet border
and dimension text. This will define the scale to increase the dimension
text so you can see it relative to the geometry you are placing. It also
allows you to select a block to use as the sheet border. the border will
also be scaled up to fit around your 1:1 scale geometry. this block will
contain indicators in the upp er right and bottom left corners to use to do
a Print Area when you are ready to print. There is a help topic to help
explain.
You can also create 2D Model Views on working sheets and specify the scale
to display the Views on the working sheet that are derived from geometry on
the 2D Model Sheet. On a working sheet you can specify the sheet size and
background (border) by Right Mouse Click on the Sheet1 tab at the bottom and
selecting Properties. You can drag your 2D Model Views around on the sheet
for proper placement.
