I recently had ST7 stop on me saying that a file could not be opened, I tried to unistall and re-install but the uninstall process stopped 20% along the way. I then managed to unistall with Revo Uninstaller Pro. But now when trying to reinstall I get the message that it is already installed and has to be removed before I can reinstall... Have spent best part of three days and have given up so any help please..

GTAC Solution Center article 002-7005960 covers how to manually uninstall Solid Edge after a failed uninstall.
I have cut and pasted the body of the article below for your convenience:
Manually uninstalling Solid Edge after failed uninstall Symptom --------------- When attempting to uninstall Solid Edge, the uninstall fails and Solid Edge is not fully uninstalled. How to clean up and manually finish uninstalling Solid Edge after a failed uninstall? Hardware/Software Configuration Solid Edge Solution If you have issues with uninstalling Solid Edge then you will need to perform a manual uninstall: 1. Manually delete the Solid Edge program folders typically in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (X86). 2. Manually delete the Solid Edge user preference folder %APPDATA\Unigraphics Solutions. 3. Manually clean up the registry by deleting any Solid Edge registries in the following locations: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Unigraphics Solutions HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Unigraphics Solutions 4. Reboot the workstation. Solid Edge should now be completely uninstalled and ready to reinstall Solid Edge.
Have you done a Windows Search for files with the extension ".dft"?.......these are user managed, so should be saved to a known location outside of the application folder.
If the search doesn't find any files, then they are likely to be gone forever.
