I am just new to Solid edge free 2d and I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong but I don't think you can do this. Free 2d can't work in 3d... you would have to have a dxf or dwg of the view already rotated in xy in 2d format.

Marco, Solid Edge 2D Drafting is 2D only, however when you open a DXF or DWG file with 3D content, you can set the orientation to project the geometry onto. When you click on a DXF file in the FileOpen dialog, click on the Options button at the bottom of the dialog. This will run the 'AutoCAD to Solid Edge translation Wizard'. On the first page of the wizard is a combo box to set orientation. See the attached image. Finish looking through the options. You will be prompted to save your custom configuration for translation.
