Smart Dimension origin

-I have a rectangle drawn by the 2 point method with the 1st point at X0Y0. and the 2nd point at X4Y2.
-I added a Smart dimension to the bottom of the rectangle.
-When I change the length of the Smart dimension, it adjusts the left side of the line.
-I want the right side of the line to be adjusted instead so I can keep the corner of the rectangle at X0Y0.
Is there a way to do this?

Thanks
Rich

Re: Smart Dimension origin

Rich,
Place a lock constraint at the lower left hand corner of the rectangle. The lock constraint will lock any keypoint at the current position. It is in the Relate command group. It looks like a pad lock.

That works, but I'm not sure how I did it. It's hard for me to see if I locked or unlocked it. Am I locking the End Point of a line or the Corner of the rectangle?

Thanks
Rich

Re: Smart Dimension origin

When you use constraints, it helps to enable 'Relationship Handles'. It is the second command down on the right habd side of the Relate command group. You will see a lock handle where you added the lock constraint.
