SolidEdge 2D doesn't Start

After installing SolidEdge V20 on my tablet PC (HP TC1100) when I try to run it,
it shows the logo screen opens a window but it gets closed immediately. I can't
think of anything I did wrong during the installation.
Could it be a problem with minimum hardware requirements?

That happens to me regularly, quite annoying. What I do is reinstall, then it usually
works for a while (days/week/whatever) then I have to do another reinstall.
Haven't had time to investigate why, but this computer has always had some own ideas
of how to do things Smiley Happy

Re: SolidEdge 2D doesn't Start

Paulo,
There is a 'readme.htm' in the Solid Edge 2D Drafting V20 program folder. It
will describe the minimum requirements for proper operation of the software.
Just double click on the file to open.

Re: SolidEdge 2D doesn't Start

This is my configuration:
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 Version 2002 Service Pack 2
running on Intel Pentium M processor 1.20GHz w/ 512MB RAM.
It is borderline as per the file you mention below. The only difference I found
is that it requires Windows XP Professional and mine is Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.
But I don't know what the differences between the two are and if they are the culprits.
I'm still at a loss on why this is happening.

Re: SolidEdge 2D doesn't Start

Paulo,
I do not know the differences between XP Professional and XP Tablet PC.
Solid Edge has not been certified on the operating system you mention.
You state that you only have 512 MB Ram. This is a red flag. How large is
your Page file? You may be running out of memory.
Your problem could also be graphics card related. Disable gyour raphics card
hardware acceleration and try to run.

Re: SolidEdge 2D doesn't Start

Rick,
I had 768MB initial page file and 1536MB maximum. I increased it to 1536MB initial
and 3000MB maximum with the same result.
I disabled all hardware acceleration on my NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go 32M graphics card
with the same result.
It doesn't even give out an error message. It opens the window and immediately closes
it again.
Can you think of anything else I could try?
Thanks,
