Spaceball support ?

Is the spaceball supported in the free 2D Solid Edge, I can't seem to get it
to work, I would like to use it for the pan & zoom functions and perhaps map
some commands to the buttons.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Spaceball support ?

Tom,
The free 2D version of SE is the same 2D package that comes with the fully
loaded SE software. Therefore, if the SpaceBall supports SE then it should
work with the free 2D SE software.
I would contact 3D Connexion for help. It sounds like you may have a driver
issue. Of course the Space Ball has been discontinued so they will probably
try to talk you into upgrading to their latest product. At one time they
were offering a promotion that allowed you to trade in your Space Ball.

Re: Spaceball support ?

Thanks, David
I will contact 3D Connexion, because I do have the latest driver with the
Solid Edge plugin. The spaceball works great with UG NX.

Re: Spaceball support ?

The free 2D version is not the same as the full production version as was
suggested in another post. The difference is that there is no API
(Application Programming Interface) in the free version, and therefore
nothing for the spaceball drivers to talk to.
