I installed the DVD and down loaded the license. When I start Solid Edge the "YOU NEED A LICENSE" page pops up. I saved the download in the solid edge folder. and unziped the file. I did not open tne the .dat file. I rebooted. Any help?
Jerry, There is a sub-folder named "Program" in the 'Solid Edge 2D Drafting V20' folder. You must extract the 'SELicense.dat' file into that sub folder. There is already a default 'SELicense.dat' file in that folder. The default license is what tells the software to display the page telling you that you need a valid license. Once you overwrite the existing .dat file with the one in the zip file it should run. Open the SELicense.dat in the 'Program' subfolder. You will have to open it with notepad. There will be a date of 31-Oct-2008 on the first line of the file. If the date is not there, you still have not overridden the file with the one in the zip file. Regards, Rick B.
