Weird lines/sqares

Something weird is happening now, I must have accidentaly changed some setting or
something. Everytime I try to draw something I get extra lines in the middle of
lines and squares around the corners, see attached image.
Does anyone know what happened and what I can do to change back to original behaviour?

Those are relationship handles. You can turn them off under the View Tab -
Show pane. See attached image.
You can type Relationship Handles into the Help index to find a chart
defining each handle.

Thank you! That solves some problems Smiley Happy
Another questions, in a fit of desparation the only solution I could think of to
get rid of this new ornament was to click on each handle and delete. Will that give
me any problems in the future, should I redraw?

Peter,
This will not give you any problems, per se. The handles are there to define relationships
between the geometry. For example, if you draw a line and then draw another line,
there may not be any geometric relationships between them. But if you draw two
lines in the same command by clicking three points and you have Relationship Handles
and Maintain Relationships turned on, then the system will place a Connect relationship
at the juncture between the two lines. This means that, if you move one of the
lines, the other line will adjust accordingly. These types of relationsips are
very beneficial for maintaining the intent of your design work.
The little boxes at the corners of your rectangle are the Connect relationhips.
The + at the midpoints of the lines are Horizontal/Vertical Constraints.

Ok, thank you for the explanation. I will have read up a bit on this and experiment
a little more.
This is one of the problems you risk running into when you try to do too simple
things with a very competent program, at least without reading the manual first

But now everything works as expected again, so I am happy.
